Richard Langford joined Microsoft in March 2008 and is currently working with the U.S. Education Team as a senior education solutions specialist for the East Region. As an education solutions specialist, Langford works with state and national education leaders to identify opportunities for Microsoft to support and advance their efforts to provide top quality instruction and education services for students.
Prior to Microsoft, Langford was an education market specialist for Verizon Business; however, most of his career has been spent in the public sector. In 2006, he retired from the New York City Department of Education after almost 20 years of service in a variety of roles including deputy chief information officer.
Langford graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1982, and served as a surface warfare officer for five years before leaving the military and going to work for the New York City schools.
